Smarter than Your Average Wardrobe
By Michele Narup
Everything has been making technological advances now a days, why not our clothing? Scientists have already announced two exciting additions to your wardrobe just this past month.
The first of these items is a pair of self cleaning socks to battle the stinky feet epidemic. Scientists in China and Australia have developed new nano-technology which makes this new discovery possible. The titanium dioxide formula is fused to wool and becomes activated by the power of the sun. But do not worry about your socks becoming itchier, the substance is so thin it will not make any difference to the texture of your favorite feet warmers.
While self cleaning socks are all the rage on the other side of the globe, US scientists have made a discovery to help us with our busy technology based lifestyles. Have you ever found yourself out with a dead cell phone? It is truly a horrible experience. Well luckily, because of this new development that will never happen again.
A new shirt has been created to charge your portable devices while you are on the go. The friction from the nano fibers in the shirt will become activated as the fabric moves. It will not be powerful enough to cause any damage to yourself, but will be strong enough to charge cell phones, cameras, and mp3 players.

"Our estimates show we can have up to 80 milliwatts per square meter of this fabric. This is enough to power a little iPod or charge a cell phone battery," said Zhong Lin Wange of the Georgia Institute of Technology, who leg the study.
There is no estimated time frame as to when this new breed to fashion will be available for purchase.
