The New Wave of Poker?
By Jason Woolem
For most poker professionals, the World Series of Poker is the best time of the year for them. If you win a World Series of Poker bracelet, you will be remembered as a champion, and if you win the World Championship, then you will go down as a legend.
For the online professionals, Full Tilt Poker has brought them something along the same lines, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, and the 7th incarnation of this tournament just finished with a $535 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold Em’ tournament that had a guarantee of $2 million dollars.
During the most recent one, there were 27,493 participants over the twenty event series, and they had a combined prize pool over $11 million. Several unique things took place during this event, including when Erick Lindgren, a Full Tilt Poker Pro, won his own event. He hosted the 9th event in the FTOPS, a $322 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold Em’ event, with a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, that had over 5,600 people in the event. He became the first Full Tilt Poker Pro to host and win his own event.
Also, in the Main Event, the $535 buy-in, $2 million guarantee, with over 5,200 people entering the event, another Full Tilt Pro almost won the event. Thomas Wahlroos, He made the final table of the event, and almost won it all, but ended up finishing second and winning $276,000.
Overall, these online tournaments allow you to take a chance and gamble it up, of course you have to be the legal age to do so. But if you feel that your skills are good enough, then take a chance and lay down the buy-in and take your shot at that huge prize pool.
